Progressive Writing Mode for Canvas/Artifacts Panel (Append-Only Support for Long-Form Content)

I'd love to see a feature that enables progressive, additive writing in the Canvas or Artifacts Panel—similar to how collaborative documents or “persistent canvases” work. The idea is to build a long-form document (such as a novel, story, history, or detailed report) part by part, following the flow of a conversation, without needing to rewrite or resend the full content to the canvas each time.

Desired workflow:

• The chat remains on the left, with a Canvas/Artifacts panel on the right.

• After the initial document creation, both the user and the AI could add new sections/paragraphs/chapters to the existing document in the canvas—each addition simply appends to the current content.

• No need to regenerate the whole accumulated text on each update—just append what's new.

• Ideally, the feature would track/allow for collaborative incremental writing, and maybe even support simple versioning or “undo last addition.”

Use cases:

• Fiction/novel writing, story-building

• Research/journaling, documentation that grows step by step

• Any long-form project where chat and canvas interact together
