Long-Term Memory in TypingMind

Objective: Enhance TypingMind by adding long-term memory capabilities to AI agents, allowing them to retain and recall information over extended interactions, thereby improving user experience and personalization.

Solution Overview: Integrate long-term memory using one of the following options:

  1. mem0.ai: A specialized memory platform for AI agents that offers seamless memory storage and recall, optimized for conversational AI. Integrating mem0.ai would allow TypingMind agents to retain knowledge across sessions without complex infrastructure.

  2. LangChain Memory: If TypingMind's tech stack is more aligned with Python-based frameworks, LangChain provides a variety of memory modules such as ConversationBufferMemory and EntityMemory, which can be customized to store and retrieve information dynamically.

Implementation:

  • Data Storage: Use vector embeddings to store conversation context or important information.

  • Retrieval: Retrieve relevant memory chunks based on context to ensure seamless interactions.

  • Tech Stack Compatibility: Evaluate whether mem0.ai or LangChain aligns better with TypingMind’s existing infrastructure (cloud, database, language).

Recommendation: Depending on TypingMind's existing stack, either implement a pre-built memory system (e.g., mem0.ai) or use LangChain's modular memory capabilities. Alternatively, the development team can research and propose a custom solution that fits their stack.

I created MemoryPlugin.com that adds long-term memory to TypingMind and the memory can be shared across many other platforms too. It works as a plugin you can install and requires no other setup, no servers to maintain or anything else.

That would be one very useful feature for my B2C clients.

Is this still planned, and if so, is there an ETA for release? I'd say it's a pretty critical feature for TypingMind to feature.

Is this still being planned? I think this is an important feature, especially since ChatGPT has it built in now…

Would love to know roughly when this planned for.

I also see another feedback post for "Long Term Memory in Typing Mind" and wonder how this is different.

I am excited about this feature because I used it in Poe. But in Poe, results were worse comparede to ChatGPT and I couldn't use my own key.

Asad This is cool. But what is the interface for viewing and managing the stored data? Happy to jump on a demo call if that works best.

Shane Please drop me an email from the site, it's supportmemoryplugin.com , and we can connect :). The interface is a web app where you can view and delete memories. I have some plans on improving it further too.
