Hello. It would be helpful if we could instruct any agent we create to be aware of the current date.
According to your Help bot this isn’t possible. One of its answers during the chat about the subject:
“Correct—currently, TypingMind does not provide an auto-updating variable (such as {{today}}) in Dynamic Context to insert the current date/time dynamically. Dynamic Context does not have a built-in variable for "today."
If you use Override system instructions, you would need to manually update the date/time in your instruction.
Adding something like {{today}} or any similar placeholder in Dynamic Context will not be replaced automatically with the current date.
If you would like TypingMind to support this as a feature, you can suggest it here: https://feedback.typingmind.com/”
And:
“If you override the system instruction, you are responsible for manually including today’s date/time in your custom instruction—otherwise the model may not know the current date.
You can do this by typing the current date directly into your instruction (e.g., “Today’s date is Mon Feb 02 2026, 09 AM”) and update it as needed.”
