I'm going to add a very strong PLEASE IMPLEMENT to this, but extend it slightly as I think there is an inconsistency in the way that Typing Mind currently handles hiding/closing behaviour in the app on MacOS.

On a Mac, clicking the red “close” button should hide the app, not close it. When I switch back to the app again it should be in the exact same state as I left it. Same thread, same position. The app should stay active in the dock with the open "dot" under it, it shouldn't need to even remember anything. Just hide the app, in the exact same way as cmd-h would do.

Messaging and notes apps on Mac (such as iMessage, WhatsApp, the built in Notes app etc) all work like this. It makes jumping in and out of the app much smoother. Something like a ChatGPT app is far more similar to a chat or notes app than it is to any other class of app. I'm jumping in and out all the time as I work, sometimes multiple times in a minute. It needs to just be always open and always as I left it.

If someone wants to fully close the app, then a "quit" option should appear within the "Typing Mind" menu in the top menu bar, or a right-click on the dock icon and then "quit".

If this was implemented, it would make the "Continue where I left off when launch the macOS app" less important, as most of the time people wouldn't be accidentally closing the app and so wouldn't be re-launching it. And so it would make this issue even easier to fix.
