BUG: selecting text causes sidebar to open

lets say u have a mobile screen like this (and have an extension so that the avatars are hidden to get some reading room on mobile)

if you want to select the text and the text starts close to the left side of the screen, then you have to 1) press down on the word for like a second so the selection starts and 2) then once the selection starts, drag to the right to select the addition words. so in the screenshot, you hold down the first far left apple, then slide to the right.

but if you do that on mobile, it will instead open the sidebar and mess up your existing selection.

swiping gestures maybe shouldn't work if you have a selection (or pressed down for a second to start the selection and then swiped)
