Bug - output from Claude and Gemini doesn't render LaTeX properly when using \( \) and \[ \] delimiters

For whatever reason, when asking Claude to write LaTeX, the UI doesn't render it right away. See the first picture for what it looks like. To get it to render, click the "Edit" button for Claude's response, then click the "Update" button (see second picture) without actually changing anything, and then LaTeX renders correctly (see third picture). This only happens with Claude and not any other models I've tried.

EDIT: this is now broken, so LaTeX using this format doesn't work at all with these models. Only $$ seems to work.
